The South East Asia One Health University Network (SEAOHUN) encourages participation of students and academic staff in One Health-focused national and international meetings, conferences and workshops. SEAOHUN supports participation by providing travel awards to students and academic staff to deliver presentations at such venues and/or participate for the purpose of professional development.
Criteria for applicants:
- Applicant must be a staff member (permanent or contracted), or a student from one of the SEAOHUN member faculties in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, one of the SEAOHUN expansion countries, namely Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Bangladesh.
- The national or international conference must be related to One Health
- The applicant has been accepted for oral or poster presentation if attendance is part of professional development and you are not delivering an oral or poster presentation, you must justify your participation in a separate letter, with endorsement by your Head of Department or Faculty Dean.
The following deliverables are expected within two weeks after the conference:
- A digital copy of your presentation or poster (if the applicant has been accepted for oral or poster presentation).
- A trip report which includes a plan for sharing conference outcomes with professional colleagues, students and the One Health National Coordinating Office (NCO). The link to the online trip report template will be sent to the successful applicants.
- Scanned boarding passes and receipts for reimbursement.
How to apply:
- Complete the “TRAVEL AWARD APPLICATION FORM” provided below. The application must be endorsed and signed by your Head of Department or Faculty Dean.
- Submission of the application is at least 1 months in advance.
- Attach a copy of photo page of your passport. At least 6-month passport validity is required before traveling.
- Attach the abstract of your presentation or poster and proof of acceptance from the conference organiser an endorsement letter by your Head of Department or Faculty Dean if attendance is part of your professional development.
- Submit the application or general enquiries to Ms. Jutamart Jattuchai (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) with subject line “Travel Award Application.”
Note: Cost sharing is encouraged, e.g. travel expenses are requested from SEAOHUN and the registration fee is paid by another funding source.
Please note that:
- SEAOHUN will cover the travel expense, including registration fee, most economic round trip flights, and the accommodation (or the majority of these expense, depending on the location where the conference taken place and the consideration of the committee)
- All international travel will be subjected to final travel approval from USAID/Washington DC.
Please do not incur any costs, including registration fee, prior to USAID approval.
- The USAID/SEAOHUN logos are required to be displayed on posters and presentations and mentioned in oral presentations (presentation template attached)
- The travel awardee must attend the whole event of the conference, training, workshop, etc.
- SEAOHUN does not cover non official meeting days, personal extra days, personal expenditures
SEAOHUN Travel Awards have been successfully completed for Year 2 budget. We do still hope to support you all on One Health works in other activities. We will keep you updated for other upcoming support and opportunities from SEAOHUN.
