Scholarship Program for Master’s Degree Students


SEAOHUN serves as a dynamic partner in building One Health capacity within Southeast Asia region. One type of support SEAOHUN offers is scholarship granting to individuals in the region interested in pursuing a One Health-related Master’s Degree Program. It is seen as valuable professional development of individuals who will facilitate advancement and implementation of One Health in Southeast Asia.

Criteria for applicants:


  • Applicant must come from one of the SEAOHUN member countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam one of the SEAOHUN expansion countries, namely Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Myanmar.
  • No more than 35 years of age.
  • The Master’s Degree Program applied must be related to One Health and is offered in one of the SEAOHUN member countries and commenced within 15 November 2016.  A list of some qualified programs is attached with this application form. Note that it is not an exclusive list and other Master’s Programs may be qualified as a One Health-related Master’s Degree Program. Final decisions on qualified programs are made by the SEAOHUN Committee. 
  • Applicant must enroll in the program as a full time student.

The following deliverables are expected from successful applicants:

  • Quarterly progress report submitted to the SEAOHUN Secretariat. The link to the online progress report will be sent to the successful applicants.
  • Proof of degree completion within two weeks after it is announced.
  • A plan to use your acquired knowledge and skills in your career development (submitted within two weeks of degree completion).
  • At least one presentation or talk at a conference or meeting to demonstrate successful application of One Health knowledge and skills acquired from the degree within a year after degree completion.

How to apply:

Note: Cost sharing is encouraged, e.g. the applicant applies for SEAOHUN funding for tuition fee and the living allowance is being met by another funding source.


Please note that:

  • All international travel will be subject to final travel approval from USAID/Washington DC.

Please do not incur any costs, including registration fee, prior to USAID approval.

  • SEAOHUN will cover round trip tickets of the most economic direct route if the degree program to be attended is located in another country in Southeast Asia region. 
  • The scholarship will be announced on a yearly basis. If the Master’s Degree Program that a successful applicant is attending is more than a year long, SEAOHUN’s decision to grant the scholarship for the following year will be based on the progress report submitted quarterly.
  • A successful application has a maximum of two years to complete the degree once the program starts.
