Engaging Intergovernmental Organization (EIO) – Southeast Asia is a professional development program designed to expand networks with key regional leaders, develop skills for effectively engaging intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) and seed collaboration.
The EIO – Southeast Asia is organized following a similar structure of the global EIO which has been held in Europe for more than eight years. This intensive program provides mid- and senior-level government officials, professionals from private sector and academics within Southeast Asia region the opportunity to interact with IGOs at their regional headquarters.
Participants draw on current events as they explore IGO roles in addressing global challenges, development of international standards, creation of successful public-private academic partnership and delivery of transdisciplinary capacity building.
objectives
- To expand knowledge of intergovernmental organizations working for public goods, regional standard implementation and regional coordinator of surveillance and response related to agriculture, public health and environment.
- To reach out to regional network leaders with backgrounds in agriculture, public health and environment for the benefits of education, research and outreach programs.
- To become more effective in creating collaboration with international organizations at a regional level.
criteria of participants
- Participants should come from different disciplines and organizations.
- Participants should come from universities (priority), government officials and other interested individuals.
- Participants should be senior or mid-career professionals who can develop opportunities to collaborate with IGOs.
Participants must be fluent in English.
