Find out who are awarded a trip to Bangkok

Four young African and Asian One Health professionals are awarded sponsorship to participate in SEAOHUN-organized meeting on the topic: “One Health University Network: From Concept to Impact”, to be held in Bangkok, Thailand on Jan 29-30.

South East Asia One Health University Network (SEAOHUN) has chosen the four based on their outstanding abstracts submitted to the foundation during a call for abstracts last month. The four are: Angella Musewa and Tonny Tindyebwa from Uganda, Sakulrat Pattamakaew from Thailand, and Tran Thi Ngan from Vietnam.

Ms. Musewa and Mr. Tindyebwa are selected based on their abstracts focusing on risk assessment of Erysipelothrix bacteria in pigs and raw pork which could cause infections among pork handlers and bat management in a bid to prevent and control emerging and re-emerging infections following One Health approach respectively.

Ms. Sakulrat is selected from her abstract involving associated factors of animal diseases and abnormal cases reporting in disease surveillance by Participatory One Health Disease Detection Project (PODD) volunteers in a northern province Chiang Mai

Ms. Tran submitted an abstract focusing on interdisciplinary collaboration to reduce disease risk and improve food safety in Vietnam.

These graduate students and young will be presenting their abstracts and insights during an afternoon session of the first day meeting on the topic: One Health participatory, experimental and problem-based learning. They will have an opportunity to access the Prince Mahidol Award Conference during Jan 29-Feb3.

Congratulations and see you in Bangkok!
