A Letter from Dr. Parntep Ratanakorn: New Chairperson of SEAOHUN Executive Board

Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Partners,

Greetings from Southeast Asia One Health University Network (SEAOHUN).

On 1 January 2022, Vietnam passed on the Chairpersonship of SEAOHUN Executive Board to Thailand. I, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Parntep Ratanakorn, am honored to chair the SEAOHUN Executive Board for the next two years. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Prof. Le Thi Huong for her leadership in fostering partnership and expanding the regional network to 92 universities in eight Southeast Asian countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Currently, I serve as the first Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and applied Zoology at HRH Princess Chulabhorn College of Medical Science, Chulabhorn Royal Academy and Chairperson of Thailand One Health University Network (THOHUN). In 1999, I was the first Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Mahidol University. In addition, I was named as the winner at the 2019 World Veterinary Association (WVA) Animal Welfares Global Awards, among other achievements.

I look forward to working with you to elevate SEAOHUN to the next level and enhance its sustainability. Let's collaborate to make our world safer by developing a resilient and competent One Health workforce to effectively prevent, detect and respond to infectious disease threats by leveraging education, research, and training excellence.
